Summary
The Mason reports to the Project Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Sets the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch and depth, and align them.
2. Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
3. Spreads, levels, and smooth concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float.
4. Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
5. Produces rough concrete surface, using a broom.
6. Operates power vibrator to compact concrete.
7. Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry, using a hoe, trowel, tamper, scraper, or concrete-mixing machine.
Supervision
This position has no supervisory responsibility.

10 or 30 hour OSHA Safety Training desirable.

Requirements - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or expertise required. Must be extremely knowledgeable in construction design, techniques and requirements. Must be capable of reading and interpreting construction asbuilts and drawings. Must have an in depth knowledge of construction codes, construction machinery, construction equipment, construction materials and supplies. Must have knowledge and understanding of SABER/JOC/Large Construction efforts. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the required functions.
Language Skills - Must be fully fluent in the English language. Expertise to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Expertise to write reports, proposals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Expertise to effectively present info and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills - Expertise to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
